Technology
At Bright White we aim to keep abreast of the very forefront of technological advances. Our clinics are one of the few that feature a number of tools based on highly modern developments, all of which make your dental visit smoother, faster, and more informative and enjoyable. Because of our technology and minimal invasion philosophy, you can expect minimal discomfort and more enhanced and accurate treatment. Here are a few of the newest tools that you can expect of a growing number of our clinics.
Lasers
Lasers are an exciting new development in the field of dentistry. The dental laser has many advantages over conventional dental instruments.
Comfort! Heat, vibration and pressure are the ordinary sources of pain associated with dental procedures, besides existing infection. Our laser induces none of these. This not only means less pain but also fewer steps to reduce pain such as anaesthesia. In some cases there may be no need for an injection at all, allowing an entirely pain-free dental experience.
Accuracy and precision! Conventional dental tools are only as precise as the dentist's eye, which, while expertly trained, is still human. A step ahead of these, our dental laser can specifically target tooth decay, through its exquisite sensitivity for certain densities. This allows us to remove only the infected parts, leaving the surrounding healthy enamel unaffected.
Fewer dental visits! Since you may not need anaesthesia, we may be able to perform cavity preparations in several areas of your mouth in a single visit instead of separately. The laser may also enable us to perform procedures which would otherwise have been referred to a specialist.
Less bleeding and swelling! The laser has unique coagulating and gentle cutting capabilities. With it we can perform many procedures on gums and other soft tissues with less bleeding and post-operative swelling.
Versatility As for cosmetic and surgical procedures in other fields such as wrinkle removal or hair removal, the laser can be used in procedures on soft tissue such as gums. However the same laser can also be used on hard tissue such as teeth and bone, eg, cavity preparation.

Digital x-rays
At Bright White Dental, we choose carefully which and when radiographs (x-rays) are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. X-Rays allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. X-Rays enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and health of bone. We also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs. Dental x-rays are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health.
Although regular x-rays are considered safe levels of radiation, digital x-ray techniques eliminate 90% of that exposure, which is a major reason for their growing usage in Bright White clinics. Conventional x-ray images are captured by inserting a special photography plate which is then developed over a short amount of time. However, these require careful handling in order to develop properly, and cannot be altered if necessary. In contrast, digital x-rays operate by inserting a tiny camera into your mouth and sending detailed images directly to a computer screen. Here they are instantly displayed, and can be manipulated and reviewed with great clarity.
Intra-oral Imaging
An intraoral camera is a highly advanced innovation in dentistry that allows us to get a close-up view inside your mouth.
The intraoral camera handpiece is approximately the size and shape of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source, so it gives us easy-to-see video and still pictures.
We can zoom in on one tooth or give you a video tour of your entire mouth. The images are displayed on a television or computer monitor, so you'll be able to see problems such as worn or broken fillings, cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings, gum disease, or excessive wear. And after we've treated your dental condition, the intraoral camera lets you see, up close, your beautiful, healthy teeth and gums.
Images captured with an intraoral camera can often be printed out for you to take home or for us to store with your dental record. They can also by sent to specialists and insurance companies.
The intraoral camera allows you to be an active partner in your dental treatment by enabling you to see what we see inside your mouth. With a clear understanding of your dental conditions, you'll be able to make treatment decisions with confidence.
Diagnodent
An amazing diagnostic tool, the Diagnodent uses a laser device to find cavities. The Diagnodent also makes it easier to find decay that may be hidden in the cracks and crevices of teeth. Because hidden decay is not visible, it may be at a very advanced stage before the first signs of pain appear, and require more drastic remedies.

LASER CAVITY DETECTION SYSTEM
The laser cavity detection system utilizes laser light to detect caries in tooth structure.
Manual probing with an instrument is often an ineffective means to detect caries as the enamel defect may be too small or inaccessible to the explorer tip. Bitewing x-rays, although effective in revealing advanced stages of decay, are unsuccessful in detecting early caries, especially in the complex anatomy of fissure areas.
The laser helps detect caries at the exposing patients to radiation
Because 80% of caries occur in the biting surface of the teeth it can remain virtually undetected with traditional diagnostic methods until significantly developed. Laser caries detection system is a reliable, non -invasive supplement to our diagnostic procedures and is highly effective in detecting caries at an early stage where teeth are most vulnerable.
